Gandalf the Grey
(to Frodo) “A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.”
PIPPIN: I didn’t think it would end this way.
GANDALF: End? No, the journey doesn’t end here. Death is just another
path, one that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back,
and all turns to silver glass, and then you see it.
PIPPIN: What? Gandalf? See what?
GANDALF: White shores, and beyond, a far green country under a swift
PIPPIN: Well, that isn’t so bad.
GANDALF: No. No, it isn’t.
FRODO: I wish the ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.
GANDALF: So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.
(to the Balrog) “You cannot pass! I am a servant of the Secret Fire, wielder of the Flame of Anor. The dark fire will not avail you, Flame of Udun! Go back to the shadow. You shall not pass!”
(to Frodo) “Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement. For even the very wise cannot see all ends.”
Random Fact: *Gandalf went by many names, but he was called Olórin in his youth.*
